I have the honor to be,
Lis
Your most obedient Servant,
2d 14th March
Colonial Secretary
Colonial Legislature
Copy of minute by Governor Kennedy.
I inform Dr. Cory that the salary of the Superintendent of the Civil Hospital has been lately increased by the sanction of the Secretary of State with a view to covering all fees and charges hitherto paid to the Superintendent. And I can not under any pretext increase the emoluments. Dr. Wharry's salary has been fixed with the distinct understanding that it is to cover his entire love and wonderful services.
If the Superintendent's duties at any time become excessive the Colonial Surgeon must make a formal representation to that effect.
